The Midnight Special

In 1972, Burt Sugarman took a chance by purchasing air time from NBC, so he could broadcast a late night musical variety program called The Midnight Special. Much to the surprise of NBC executives, the show was a hit! They decided to add the program to their lineup beginning in 1973. The program held the spot until May 1981. On this episode of RITY, we look back at LIVE performances from The Midnight Special.
